St. Peter's Church, Sandwich
A gem in the heart of Sandwich, St Peter’s church still serves the community in which it stands. During the year the church is used for a range of public events such as art and sculpture exhibitions, craft fairs, organ recitals, and floral displays. Whilst it is now classified as a redundant church, it remains consecrated and an annual Christmas Eve communion service is held there as well as a Witness Procession from the church to St Clement’s every Palm Sunday. For those interested in local history, a permanent display of information about the Earls of Sandwich is sited at the west end of the church. |
